Voluntary Arts Ireland > people on the move Who's who?
Voluntary Arts Ireland keeps abreast of changes in the arts including WHO'S WHO and where these senior level managers and policy makers move when they do! Fionnuala Walsh, Head of Participation, Arts Council NI Fionnuala commenced working with the Arts Council of Northern Ireland as Head of Community and Participatory Arts in Autumn 2009. This involves direct client management with organisations including Voluntary Arts Network (VAI) as well as leading a team of specialist officers in community and participatory arts. She also manages the Re-Imaging Communities Programme, an initiative enabling communities in urban and rural areas to address visible signs of sectarianism.
Previous to my current employment, she was Development Officer for Creative Youth Partnerships in the Southern Education and Library Board Area, Education Officer in the Millennium Court Arts Centre in Portadown and teacher of Art and Design in a post primary school in Donegal. She have also worked in Carnival Arts and as a free-lance arts facilitator.
Fionnuala writes: 'Throughout my professional career, I have witnessed the benefits of participation in the arts and ways in which involvement in creative activities can be an enriching and rewarding experience. I look forward to finding out more about the voluntary arts sector in Northern Ireland and beyond and the role of Voluntary Arts Ireland within this'. |
