Good Practice
Within the ovluntary sector, is taken to mean that 'organisations operate within full legal compliance and that policies and practices exceed the minimum standard of Behaviour required. Good practice insists on fairness and equality in all organisation's approach to the law. Proactive steps should be taken to tackle discrimination and policies should promote equality of opportunity measures and encourage personal development as well as ensuring effective communications'. Grant
A Grant is an award of funds to a person or organization to fund charitable activities whose purpose is to solve local, regional, or national problems. Grant Management
This term stands in apposition to Grant Seeking. While Grant Seeking is the seeking out and obtaining of grants, Grants Management concerns the activities that occur after a grant has been awarded. It includes such things as management of grant funded personnel, financial accountability, evaluation of the grant project, dissemination of information, and continuation of the project after the term of the grant.
Grant Seeking
The overall effort to obtain grants. It includes project design and development, funding source research, and proposal development. The term is often mistakenly made into one word.
Grantee
The recipient of a grant, also known as Donee and Beneficiary. The grantee is the entire legal entity even if only a particular component of the entity is designated in the award document.
Grantor
The individual or organization that makes a grant, also called Grant Maker and Donor.
