Open for applications!

Do you care about the arts and crafts? Would you like to see them better represented in your local area? Then why not become a Voluntary Arts Ambassador with VAScotland?

We’re looking for people with a passion for participation, some spare time and good communication skills to join our exciting new venture. We’ll give you training and support, peer networking opportunities and will hook you up with appropriate organisations in your area. Eventually, we aim to have a team of informed, confident arts and crafts representatives across the country, who can help influence Community Planning in their local area.

This is a voluntary post, but all reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. For more information on the Voluntary Arts Ambassador scheme visit www.vascotland.org.uk or contact Claire English on tel: 0131 225 9790 or e-mail: claire@vascotland.org.uk

Voluntary Arts Ambassadors Role Description (doc - 97k)

The voluntary arts are those arts and crafts that people undertake for self-improvement, social networking and leisure, but not primarily for payment.

Interested? Read on for more background information...

The main purpose of the Voluntary Arts Ambassador’s role is to give the voluntary arts and crafts a voice in Community Planning and promote the benefits of taking part in the arts and crafts.

We all know these are challenging times for the cultural sector, and the voluntary sector as a whole. Developing good partnerships and sharing information and resources across the sector will help us work together to maximise the potential for the arts and crafts to benefit more people. By recruiting a Voluntary Arts Ambassador in each Local Authority, assisting them in establishing links with the right people in their area, and providing them with networking and training opportunities, Voluntary Arts Scotland will support informed, confident arts and crafts representatives who can make a difference. Would you like to be one of them?

To find out more about Community Planning, you can read our briefing about it here:

If you would like to apply, please download the application form and post or email it to the address detailed. Available in PDF and Word Format.
