Travelling Gallery - Volunteers - posted 20.8.2010 Travelling Gallery - Volunteers

The Travelling Gallery is currently looking for volunteers to talk about exhibitions in the Travelling Gallery, often to groups of school children of all ages but also to members of the public. This may involve a lot of driving, getting from Edinburgh to wherever the Travelling Gallery happens to be, so you must be a safe and confident driver (you don't need to drive the gallery bus!). This is a great opportunity to learn about a gallery organisation, teamwork, contemporary art, art education and to travel and see Scotland. It is ideal for someone interested in a career in the visual arts and/or gallery education. It's also good experience in teaching or community work.

The Travelling Gallery will cover the cost of any expenses incurred while on tour, i.e. meals, travel and accommodation. The next exhibition starts touring in August and ends in December. For an informal chat about the volunteer programme please contact Alison Chisholm, Travelling Gallery Curator on tel: 0131 529 3682 or email: alison.chisholm@edinburgh.gov.uk, attaching your CV and a written statement saying why you want to work with them. www.travellinggallery.com
