Event description:
‘Over recent years, there has been a growing understanding of the impact that taking part in the arts can have on health and wellbeing - promoting prevention of disease and building wellbeing.

There are many different ways in which this work is described but essentially they are all about the effect that active engagement can have on the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.

The Five Ways to Wellbeing are a set of evidencebased actions which promote people’s wellbeing. They are: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give. These activities are simple things individuals can do in their everyday lives. Combining both some of the five ways alongside engagement in the arts, can maximise the therapeutic benefit of creativity and increasing social engagement to measurably improve health outcomes and increase wellbeing.'

Hilary Abernethy MSc Bsc (Hons) Public Health Specialist will take you through this one day course looking at these elements and how to implement them in your creative lives.
