Join Arts 4 Dementia and the Royal Opera House for a programme of ballet workshops, with a live musician and dancers from the Royal Ballet!

The workshops will be based on the company's repertoire for Winter 2018, including The Nutcracker.

The workshops will be led by dance artist Danielle Teale, a leader in the field of community dance and dance for health.

Danielle's experience includes working with the English National Ballet, founding their Dance for Parkinson's; with Green Candle Dance Company; with the Parkinson's Hospital Programme; DanceEast, AESOP Dance to Health among others. More information can be found on Danielle’s website

This is an amazing opportunity to learn new skills through dance in the newly-refurbished Royal Opera House with others affected by dementia, and to be a part of the Royal Opera House's Open Up project.

These sessions will re-energise and inspire individuals, carers, families and friends living with early-stage dementia within the community. All abilities are welcome, no previous dance experience necessary. The class will involve some seated and standing dance activity and all exercises will be suitable for adaptation for those wishing to remain seated. Please wear comfortable, loose clothing you can move around in, and no high heels or sandals.

Participants are invited to register for all sessions with a companion. Please call Arts 4 Dementia to register. The workshops are free of charge.

The workshops will culminate in a group invitation to the Paul Hamlyn Christmas Treat matinée performance of The Nutcracker on Saturday 15 December at 2pm.
