In June 2018, we were lucky enough to receive a small grant from Active Essex to pilot our idea of bringing together our family groups and older adults to share a dance space and like all our health programmes the aim of this was for our participants to make new friends and strengthen relationships, as well as being active; and of course for us creative through dance movement. It was incredibly energetic, moving and encouraged lots of laughter. We now have been offered further support by Chelmsford CVS to continue these sessions in Chelmsford.

These classes are held once a month and will welcome you to explore movement and dance as a family or as an adult. These classes encourage families and older adults to move together and designed to explore creativity and group expression. As well as dancing as a group the individual will develop a memory for movement and build their own strength, balance, coordination and encourage healthy physical development or preservation of the muscles and joints.

After each session, we will also allow time to socialise so that participants can interact and we will provide refreshments and healthy snacks.

Previous experience in dance is not required, and you do not already have to be one of our attendees. We encourage all to come to a join in these special once a month sessions. Eagerness to move and smiles are a must.

Classes are currently FREE of charge but as always if you would like to make a donation to support the sustainability of our work we would welcome this.

Spaces are limited to 30 participants so please make sure you book in for your sessions as places will be taken on a first come first serve basis.

If you require any further information, please contact Emma on [email protected], or call on 07561 267 332.
