Wholesale Memory is a project run by Friction Arts to preserve the heritage and stories of Birmingham's Wholesale Market. We are working with traders, staff and customers to capture their tales of this unique space before it closes for ever later in 2017. Friction Arts have received the kind support from Heritage lottery fund to make this project possible.

On Sunday 9th April we will be working with Flatpack Festival to present a selection of films from the archives which explore the various stories of the Wholesale Markets. Alongside this visitors will have the chance to participate in heritage and arts activities such as printmaking and crafting inspired by the surrounding market and our emerging archive.

This is a rare opportunity to visit the Wholesale Markets site before it's gone, but it's also a chance to engage with the material we have found so far and our ever changing exhibition space in our on site Project Hub.
