Tara LopezTara joined the Voluntary Arts England team in June 2018, coming from a community arts background. Since attending university in the East Midlands Tara has dedicated her time to supporting young people, artists and community groups across the region to achieve their full potential.

Before joining Voluntary Arts, she was working with the East Midlands Caribbean Carnival Arts Network (EMCCAN) across a range of touring, artist development and education projects; supporting the organisation to reach new audiences and artists to reach new heights.

With a passion for equality, diversity and inclusion, Tara has spent a great deal of time researching and discussing these topics and continues to do so. As an alumnus of the Extend Cultural Leadership Programme, she has become part of a wider conversation on the topic. Alongside her work with Voluntary Arts, she produces a national programme aiming to make theatre for children and young people more representative. She is also on the advisory board of Baby People; a social enterprise company that uses art and culture to promote community development and support the needs of the most deprived in our communities.
