Action Transport TheatreArea: Ellesmere Port
Deadline: Friday 22 September 2017

This is your chance to lead one of the North West’s favourite arts organisations into a new era, help young people and develop your own leadership, personal and business skills. Action Transport Theatre (ATT) is a professional theatre company which makes world-class theatre for children and young audiences.

They are part of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio. Based in Ellesmere Port in Cheshire, the company has a local, regional, national and growing international reputation as leaders in the field, collaborating with children and young people to make pioneering work which tours to schools and venues. ATT is entering a new era of growth. Working with the local council, Cheshire West and Chester, the company will see investment of around 3.5 million into their venue, Whitby Hall, transforming the building into a fully public-facing arts centre, which will change the cultural landscape of Ellesmere Port and West Cheshire.

As Chair, you’ll get the chance to use your knowledge and skills to make sure that ATT’s work and relationship with the local community is vibrant, flourishing and sustainable. And you’ll get to develop your own skills and be involved in the creation of fantastic new theatre for young people at the same time. Ideal candidates will have a keen interest in theatre for young people and the arts, enjoy working in a team and be attracted by the opportunity to develop Action Transport Theatre to the next level of excellence and success.

Ideally you will also have experience of project leadership and an understanding of non-profit governance. Above all you must want to use your passion and professionalism to make a difference to the lives of young people.
