Join us for the Ireland's first ever Epic Awards Celebration!

The Epic Awards shine a spotlight on the achievements of voluntary arts groups across the UK and Republic of Ireland each year. It is a chance for creative groups and projects to be recognised for the incredible work they do all year round.

The Awards are now in their 7th year and for the first time the Epic Awards Ceremony is coming to Ireland, to Richmond Barracks, Dublin on Thursday 3rd May 2018 as part of the Bealtaine Festival.

32 fantastic creative projects have made the shortlist for this year’s awards, ranging from yarnbombing groups, a sewing group, a mental health podcast and lantern, halloween, ukulele and book festivals - each contributing to the cultural life of the people involved and the places they are based.

To mark the Irish debut of the Epic awards Ceremony 2018, Voluntary Arts will be taking over Richmond Barracks for an Epic Celebration Day!

On Thursday 3 May 2018, the Richmond Barracks in Dublin (St Michael's Estate, Inchicore, Dublin 8) will become a hive of cultural activity from 11.00am.

Bring your group together to join us in conversation, host a creative workshop or demonstrations, yarn bomb a space in the Barracks or host performances, hackathons, creative engagement and much more.

We are calling for creative citizens and groups from across Dublin to get involved and make a contribution.

  • Making Common Cause: A Civic Conversation

The everyday creative things we do have a value to us, to the social fabric and wellbeing of our communities and to the health of our democracies.

It is now when creating together, wisely and hopefully, matters most.

Join us for an open, friendly conversation about ways of sustaining the mutually supportive, cultural creativity of people living in Dublin City.

1.30pm - 4.00pm (light lunch will be provided)
