Deadline: midnight, Friday 6 January 2017

Arts Council England champions, develops and invests in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people’s lives. We support a range of activities across the arts, museums and libraries – from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, and crafts to collections.

The Arts Council has statutory responsibility for the Acceptance in Lieu (AIL) and Cultural Gifts (CGS) Schemes, which bring pre-eminent objects into UK public collections. In this role you will work with colleagues to provide a full secretariat service to the Acceptance in Lieu Panel who advise Ministers on works of art offered under AIL and CGS. You will contribute to the management of the high volume and complex caseload relating to these two schemes and support delivery of the Conditional Exemption Scheme (CE) and monitoring of Immunity from Seizure.

You will be highly organised, have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and will have appropriate experience of working in the arts and cultural sector. You will be required to liaise with key stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally within the commercial art world and museum sector, with owners of works of art and their agents, with government officials and art historians.
