Launch Event: 5 July

Location: St. Helen's, England

Over the next few years St.Helens Council and Heart of Glass will be working together to offer small grants to voluntary arts groups in St.Helens to deliver new and exciting projects with their members.

To launch this new fund they are hosting an event in St.Helens on Thursday 5th July (6pm - 8pm) at Chester Lane Library. They are looking for voluntary arts groups from across the North-West who have already undertaken an inspiring and exciting project to attend and talk to other amateur arts groups about the work they have done.

The session will take the format of round table discussions and therefore they do not expect selected groups to prepare a presentation.

They will be able to cover all expenses and make a contribution of £75 to each organisation selected to talk about their work*

Perhaps you are:

·         A local drama group who who has worked with a professional director to create a new piece of theatre.

·         A visual arts group who has worked in a new medium.

·         A dance group who branched out and developed a project with a visual artist.

·         Or a brass band who delivered a project with an electronic music producer.

Whatever your group has done - they would like to hear from you.  The more ambitious, the more experimental, the better!

If you are interested in attending, please email organisers with an outline of the interesting and exciting project that you would be interested in talking about.

* They only require 4-6 groups to attend and are looking for a broad spectrum of different art forms and projects, so they won't be able to accommodate all groups interested in attending.

If you have any questions please email Owen Hutchings or call 01744 677087.
