Event description: This course is aimed at teaching the basics of computer programming to artists, designers, architects, musicians or anyone who is interested in learning to author their own creative application.

Over the last few years, there has been an increased interest from a range of disciplines, beyond those of computer science and software development to engage with ideas associated with coding. It is a growing field as creative people are learning to use “algorithmic thinking” as a medium for self-expression.

During the course, you'll learn the fundamentals of computer programming within the context of creative exercises and mini-projects. In addition, you will explore some of the philosophy and ideas associated with artists working with code. Youll be using the visual programming language Processing, a platform that combines visual art with traditional elements of programming, the software is free to use and open source.
