This year with the support of Dundee Place Partnership, a mentoring scheme is also available that will support one successful applicant to develop and progress their creative practice over 12 months. Tailored to the individual musician, the programme will include mentoring which may lead to the development of skills and training or creation of work. A bursary of £500 will be awarded. Over the past 10 years successful applicants have included, The Hazey Janes, Charlotte Brimner, Panda Su, The Mirror Trap, Fat Goth, Scary People, AMWWF, Michael Marra, Loadsaweeminsingin’, Cantiones Sacrae and many more. 2017 winner Panda Su, now known as SHHE, used the award to collaborate on a new music video - "Eyes Shut was recorded and produced in Dundee so it was important to me that the video was made here too. Collaborating with a Dundee-based director and performers from Scottish Dance Theatre proves that you don't need to leave the city to create something special. As an independent artist, the support I received from Dundee Musicians Award was crucial in making these collaborations happen."
