Auchtermuchty Media Project< Back to Shortlist

When Auchtermuchty Media Project started in 2015, it initially comprised of young people interested in media studies for career development. However, this quickly expanded over time to include adults with an interest in the preservation and promotion of local heritage.

The Project is supported by key volunteers with expertise in digital media, photography, performing arts, stage lighting, camera work and make-up.

The Project aims to create and develop locally-based films, interview and record residents to preserve and document local heritage, improve the knowledge of pathways into the media industry for young people, and highlight any emerging issues within Fife.

In 2016, Auchtermuchty Media Project created ‘Anyone Who Had a Heart’, a short film based on fictitious events in Auchtermuchty immediately before, during and after World War 2, featuring actual archive footage taken in the town at that time.
