The Voluntary Arts Epic Awards are now open for nominations!

Shining a spotlight on some of the wonderful activity taking place across the UK and Ireland each year, the Epic Awards are open to all voluntary-led creative groups.

Did your group do something special in 2018 that you'd like the world to know about? Or did you run a project that deserves a moment of recognition? Then enter the Epic Awards now!

Epic stands for Engagement, Partnership, Innovation and Creative development - and your group/project should demonstrate one or more of these qualities.

Previous winners include a ukulele festival run entirely by volunteers, a drama project delivered by young people with autism, a video game orchestra, and a wood-working group for people with PTSD.

Each year, a winner and runner-up are chosen from England, N.Ireland/RoI, Scotland and Wales. A shortlist is created, giving a number of groups a chance to gain some extra publicity and celebrate their achievements. Then, the winners and runners-up are invited to a ceremony to receive their award. This year's Epic Awards ceremony will take place in Edinburgh on 3 October.

Here's what previous winners had to say about the Epic Awards:

"Winning the Epic Award is something we’re really proud of. It put us on the map, and we were contacted by other groups throughout the UK – some of whom have been inspired to do similar projects."

"The sense of pride, achievement and recognition from winning the Epic Award is something that lasts to this day, and is worn by all of us as a badge of honour. As well as the Award helping in grant applications, it has helped encourage others to become interested in the group, and we are taken more seriously."

Enter your group or project now. Deadline: 5pm, Friday 31 May 2019.
