Opportunities Arts volunteering Fife Cultural Trust seeks Board Members Deadline: 30 May 2019, 5pmLocation: Fife This is an exciting opportunity to help guide the cultural strategy in Fife as a Board member with ONFife (Fife Cultural Trust). Board members help promote the Trust's cultural charity, which manages theatres, libraries, museums and galleries as well as Fife's collections. You will help promote their work to the widest possible audience, including press, potential funders and sponsors, politicians, strategic bodies and Fife residents. As well as steering the corporate strategy you will help ensure good governance with regards to the financial management of the organisation. As a charity trustee your role will include ensuring that the organisation operates within company and charity law. ONFife's venues welcome stars of stage and screen, from Eddie Izzard to David Tennant, from Radiohead’s Philip Selway to comedian Milton Jones. Their galleries are home to beautiful paintings by artists such as William McTaggart and Anne Redpath and modern sculptures by Turner-prize nominee David Mach. Behind those famous names are the people on their Board leading their charity, ONFife Cultural Trust. Board members make a difference by helping the Trust offer cultural experiences to everyone from all walks of life. As a Board member, your insight will help steer a charity that delivers amazing services such as British Sign Language Bookbug sessions for families, dementia friendly performances as well as cultural and book prescriptions to help mental health. What’s more, it’s an exciting time to join. The charity has welcomed over 400,000 visitors to the award-winning, Richard Murphy designed Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries since opening in May 2017. The new state of the art Collections Centre brings all of Fife’s precious heritage under one roof at Bankhead, Glenrothes. In May this year ONFife Libraries launch their new vision for libraries as creative and learning hubs at the heart of communities, or ‘Palaces for the People’ is how one author describes libraries. How to apply: Please email [email protected] in the first instance to express interest. Applications can be submitted as a CV, video or letter outlining experience and interest in the board.
