Falkirk Community Trust (FCT) requires a film practitioner to plan, create and deliver an introduction to film education and to encourage creative responses to film in Her Majesty’s Prison and Young Offenders Institute (HMPYOI) Polmont in association with FCT Libraries.  

InsideFilm is an FCT Libraries project, as part of an innovative pilot initiative run by the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC) and funded by Creative Scotland to increase opportunities for the enjoyment, understanding and involvement in film for people in HMPYOI Polmont.  

HMPYOI Polmont is Scotland's national holding facility for male young offenders aged between 16 - 21 years of age and women of all ages. The practitioner should have:

  • experience of work with diverse and challenging participants and / or with young people
  • experience in motivating and developing participants’ social skills
  • experience and skills in encouraging others to express themselves creatively
  • skills, knowledge and experience of working with film
  • experience and skills in planning, evaluating and reporting back on projects
  • excellent communication and team-working skills
  • experience of project working

Fee: £4,500 for 23 days work: 18 half days delivery / 11 days planning / 1 day final event, plus 2 days of training before the start of the project. Travel expenses are included in the fee. Contract: Freelance
