Opportunities Arts jobs Fun Palaces Ambassador - North Scotland Location: InvernessDeadline: Friday 22 November 2019, 12pm (interviews 3 Dec) The Fun Palaces Ambassador is a new part-time role at Eden Court, in partnership with Fun Palaces and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. Fun Palaces supports volunteers, grassroots communities, new and established organisations and practitioners across the UK (and beyond) to make Fun Palaces – free, local events using arts and science as a catalyst to celebrate each unique community and the skills and interests of those who live there. The first weekend of October every year is Fun Palaces’ weekend. More than just a weekend, Fun Palaces is an ongoing campaign for culture at the heart of our communities. This project will support deeper and more sustainable engagement through a rolling programme of Ambassadors (local people with lived experience of community and cultural participation) based at partner organisations. The work will be supported by a bespoke in-house evaluation programme to gather evidence of the value and impact of Fun Palaces and the Ambassador Programme. Fun Palaces and Eden Court want to encourage a culture where people can be themselves and be valued for their strengths. They are keen to hear from a diverse range of candidates from all backgrounds with different skills and interests. They will always want different perspectives, experience and knowledge impacting on how Fun Palaces grows and develops, and they welcome interest from all sections of all communities and cultural backgrounds, and candidates with disabilities. Nominal average weekly hours are 16 excluding meal breaks. You will typically work two 8 hour days per week but this may vary. This role will involve initiatives at different times of the year requiring extra hours per week such as in the run-up to and including the Fun Palaces weekend in October. Salary up to £14,040 per annum (£135 per day freelance rate). The successful candidate can consider whether they would like to be employed or engaged through a freelance contract.
