Nominate your favourite community music project for a Hands Up for Trad Community Music Award!

The awards celebrate music teachers, fundraisers, young musicians, organisations and composers that are making a real difference in communities across Scotland. Award categories include:

Community Music Teacher of the Year
This award is for an individual teacher committed to passing on music skills to others and to building strong communities as they go about their work.

Community Music Fundraiser of the Year
This is an award for a choir or band or a music project who have been involved with and raised an outstanding amount of money for a favourite charity or given of their time and energy to help a charity – or several charities – over the last year.

Young Community Musician/s of the Year
An award for individuals or groups under 25 years making a difference through music in their communities.

Community Music Organisation of the Year
This award is aimed at groups or organisations involved in supporting the wellbeing of their community through music.

Community Music Composer of the Year
This award is for new music of any kind, written or devised by individuals, groups, bands, choirs.

Lifetime Achievement Award
This award is for for individuals, groups or organisations who have worked tirelessly over many years to make music happen in their community.

Three nominees in each category will be selected to go to a public vote. Nominations will close on Monday 30 April and voting will start on 14 May 2018.
