Area: Edinburgh
Deadline: 5 May 2017, 5pm

Hidden Door is a non-profit organisation delivering the arts to the general public, through events that create an exciting, innovative and high-impact audience experience.

This year the festival will take place from 26 May - 4 June in the renowned Old Leith Theatre. The building is currently derelict as it has been closed since 1988, so there’s a lot to do!

Hidden Door Festival is 100% run by volunteers so they need your help to make it happen. They are looking for friendly and happy faces to help with a range of jobs and make this the most exciting Hidden Door Festival ever.

Why volunteer?

• Great perks including a free festival pass worth £120 for the duration of the festival
• Opportunities to meet new people including a great line up of artists and contributors
• Chance to work with an experienced team and learn new skills
• Reviving the venue where AC/DC, Kraftwerk and The Wombles have all performed
• Food and soft drinks on shift and discounts in bars and food stalls during the festival

They're looking for self-motivated team members for a range of duties before and after the festival which include:

• Venue clearance and cleaning prior to the festival
• Moving furniture
• Painting
• Small scale DIY and Construction
• Venue Clear up post-festival

No particular experience required although familiarity with some basic DIY and construction skills will be an advantage.

It is integral that all volunteers comply with a common-sense approach to health and safety whilst working on the site although full training will be given. The shifts will include time standing and being outdoors.

If you are interested in being part of the Hidden Door Festival, please send an email with the duties you would like to get involved in, why you’d like to volunteer and any relevant experience to hiddendoorvolunteers@gmail.com
