LeftCoast is a programme of arts, culture and creative activity happening across Blackpool and Wyre on the Fylde Coast. It aims to provide opportunities to experience high quality arts and culture that is accessible to all.

LeftCoast Makers is an ever-growing and exciting volunteer programme, allowing individuals aged 18 and over the chance to be a part of show-stopping projects.

Makers have the opportunity to acquire and develop skills, expertise and knowledge; meet acclaimed artists, performers and practitioners; and are able to take advantage of LeftCoast development opportunities.

Volunteering is an invaluable and enjoyable way to gain hands on professional experience and build confidence. It’s also a lot of fun!

Being a LeftCoast Maker puts you at the heart of the action, from jaw-dropping spectacle to rewarding community projects. Makers are an integral part of the LeftCoast team; working alongside other volunteers, artists, performers and staff, to make great art happen in Blackpool and Wyre.

Maker roles can vary per project, but here are some of the roles our Makers have performed in the past:

General Opportunities:

  • Front of House
  • Usher
  • Ticketing

Performance Opportunities:

  • Performance Guides
  • Small walk on Parts
  • Small dance/ singing and/ or acting roles

Behind the scenes help:

  • Set Painting and Dressing
  • Assistance roles – Costume/ Hair/ Make-up
