Event details: As a World Health Organisation (WHO) Age Friendly City, Nottingham City Council are working closely with the Baring Foundation and Arts Council England to use the arts to enrich the lives of older people. There is consistent evidence that a range of art and music related interventions are supportive in promoting and protecting mental wellbeing and independence. This evidence is incorporated into the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines for mental wellbeing and independence for older people and will be a key point of discussion within the conference.

Join NCC in Nottingham on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 September to hear how different approaches have been championed by local authorities across England and have resulted in positive outcomes for some of the most vulnerable in our society.

Day 1 - Local Government, The Arts and Older People. Looking at innovative approaches to improve the Health and Wellbeing of older people. 9:30 registration. Event 10:00am - 4:00pm

Day 2 - Imagine. Inspiring and innovative projects from the Imagine Programme will be showcased throughout the day. The day will feature the visual arts, digital arts, dance, music and performance. 9:30 registration. Event 10:00am - 3:30pm
