manipulate Visual Theatre Festival is an annual celebration of innovative international visual theatre and animated film.

Produced by Puppet Animation Scotland, the festival has been described by The Scotsman as “one of the most exciting short festivals in the Scottish cultural calendar”.

And, like many cultural organisations in Scotland, manipulate Visual Theatre Festival would not be possible without the hard work and enthusiasm from its small team of volunteers.

The Festival truly appreciates the time its volunteers dedicate to ensuring Puppet Animation Scotland delivers a really great festival and in return it aims to provide its volunteers with a rich learning experience – alongside the opportunity to see some world-class visual theatre.

They are specifically looking for applicants to fill the position(s) of Digital Communications and Logistics Volunteer. This opportunity is available to anyone whether you’ve just graduated, or are looking for more experience, to expand your network, or would benefit from seeing some ground breaking visual theatre and exceptional animated film.

They are happy to work with volunteers based on what time they would like to commit – whether that’s one day, or for the entire festival – they aim to work around your other obligations.

Due to the timing and content of some of the performances, all volunteers must be over 18. Benefits of volunteering:

– Free entrance to performances & screenings
– Experience of festival delivery and event management
– Opportunity to meet and mingle with festival performers, audiences, international delegates and guests (and the Puppet Animation Scotland team!)
– All travel expenses covered and accommodation, if required
– Stipend of £15 per shift worked

The Festival will be held on the 27 January – 5 February 2017 volunteers will be based in the Traverse Theatre and Dance Base, Edinburgh.
