The Mayor of London has exciting plans for Culture and Creative Industries in the capital over the next few years. The brief of the Mayor’s Culture Team is being extended to include a wide range of new programmes and policy areas. These include a Cultural Infrastructure Plan, 24 hour London, World Cities and ensuring all Londoners have equal access to the city’s rich cultural offer.

The Deputy Mayor for Culture and Creative Industries will lead on shaping the Mayor’s cultural strategy. The GLA culture team is being transformed into a distinct department of the organisation with an enhanced brief to deliver the Mayor’s Cultural Manifesto and the statutory cultural strategy.

As the Senior Policy Officer – Creative Enterprise Zones, you will develop and implement the Mayor’s policies and plans for Creative Enterprise Zones, as outlined in the Mayor’s Cultural Manifesto. Creative Enterprise Zones (CEZ) will provide dedicated small workspace with live-in space so that creative industries, artists and the fashion industry are given extra support to flourish in the capital. The Senior Policy Officer (CEZ) will lead on scoping, planning and development of six areas of concentrated creative infrastructure, enterprises and networks across London starting with a ‘pathfinder zone’, which will pilot the concept.

You will be an experienced cultural manager or producer with expertise in policy, managing stakeholders including local government partners; and delivering and evaluating cultural and creative initiatives ranging from research to commissioning to event management. You will manage support staff and contractors to ensure full delivery of the Mayor’s Cultural Manifesto.

This role is a 1 year fixed term contract or secondment.
