The Meadows Festival needs volunteers to run the event over the weekend of Friday 2 - Monday 5 June 2017.

Run entirely by volunteers, this annual two-day community festival is free for the public. Activities cover three music stages, a performance area, sports, dog show, kids’ corner, community stalls and market.

The event is open to the public from 10am-7pm on Saturday and 11am-6pm on Sunday. Market traders arrive from 9am both days, and remain on-site until 5pm.

Volunteers are needed for the following tasks:

  • Helping set up tents, fencing, utilities from the Thursday before and take down on the Sunday evening/Monday morning
  • Marking pitches, controlling access to the site for market traders on Saturday & Sunday mornings and exit in the evenings
  • General stewarding duties, providing help and information to audiences and performers, keeping the site and utilities safe and in good order
  • Other duties as necessary.

Volunteers can choose which hours to work between Thursday afternoon and Monday morning. Work will be organised into two-hour shifts. Volunteers can choose which hours they want to work – it’s not necessary to volunteer for the whole weekend.

There will be a briefing session for everyone on the evening of Thursday 1 June, which volunteers should attend. Lunch will be provided on Saturday and Sunday.
