Peterborough PresentsArea: Peterborough
Deadline: 12pm, Friday 6 September 2019

Peterborough Presents aims to bring great art to Peterborough. It works directly with local communities to commission cultural activities that are appealing, fun and relevant. It uses a community led commissioning process in which local residents are the decision makers. This process is supported by a programme of training and development that aims to enable local people to become creative producers for their communities.

Peterborough Presents is now looking for a Project Assistant to support the delivery of its  Millfield Link project. The Link Road mural is a much-loved but dilapidated local landmark. Painted in 1982, its street scene featured people living in the area at the time. The Millfield Link will see the mural restored; working with local residents to collect the community heritage of the past forty years and creating a community-led exhibition that shares and celebrates the experiences of people who live and have lived in the area.

The project will be led by the existing Peterborough Presents team with the Project Assistant providing additional support. The role is approx. 1-2 days per week but this will vary depending on the demands of the project. It is a fixed term role until April 2020.

Peterborough Presents is an equal opportunity employer, and the role may be suitable as an entry level position for the right candidate. It is looking for someone who is motivated, has excellent communication skills and is confident in meeting and working with new people and communities.
