Established in 2013 Spirit of 2012 was founded to continue and recreate the spirit of pride, positivity and social
connectedness that people experienced during the London 2012 Games. Today, Spirit of 2012 funds partners across the United Kingdom that provide opportunities in sports, physical activity, arts and culture, volunteering and social
action, with a passion for creating positive outcomes for people and communities.

The Spirit of 2012 Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) comprises of 10 young people from across the UK, and has been set up to ensure that young voices are woven into the fabric of its decision-making. Every other year, the YAP are given responsibility for allocating money through the Challenge Fund to projects they feel will empower young people. They manage the entire process – from setting out the initial application criteria to making the final decisions on allocating funds.

In return for a commitment of 12 days per year, for meetings and project visits, you’ll get an unparalleled insight into the work of Spirit of 2012, receive all the training you need and will develop a whole range of transferable skills. This is a voluntary role but any associated expenses such as travel will be covered by Spirit of 2012.
