Scarabeus Aerial Theatre is a leading aerial company based in North London. It produces pioneering outdoor and indoor work fusing aerial skills with visual theatre in site-specific, immersive and touring performances. It creates spectacular and unforgettable productions and participation projects dealing with contemporary narratives aimed at awakening empathy, ethical and political consciousness in our wide range of audiences. Scarabeus also deliver empowering participation projects to disadvantaged children, young people, and their families.

Trustees provide leadership and strategic direction, ensuring the organisation observes best practice in governance and is accountable for the company’s actions and resources. They ensure financial resources are well managed and use their skills, knowledge, contacts and experience to help support the development of the organisation and raise the company’s profile. 

Scarabeus are looking to expand its board of trustees and are seeking to add to the skills and experience of the current board. If you enjoy working as part of a supportive and rigorous team and are passionate about the work it creates, then they would love to hear from you. 

With the recruitment process, Scarabeus are seeking to increase the diversity of its board, and it is ideally looking for individuals who have expertise in the following areas:

  • Fundraising
  • Finance / Business Management
  • Digital work
  • Legal
  • Venue Programming and / or festival producer / producer of indoor or outdoor work
  • Knowledge of voluntary and community sector in Islington
  • Education and / or Arts Participation

This is a voluntary role and reasonable travel expenses from outside of London and access costs can be covered.
