FRONTLINEdance is a not-for-profit integrated dance company, seeking to break down the barriers for people to engage in dance participation and performance, playing a positive role in integration and community cohesion.

The Friends of FRONTLINEdance is a small and committed group who meet 4 to 6 times a year. They have an exciting and varied role of using their passion for disability and dance to help plan and deliver local fundraising events including raffles, car boots, sponsors and much more! They are also advocates of FRONTLINEdance and help raise awareness of what they do.

The aim of ‘Friends Of’ is not just about raising vital funds, it is about providing opportunities for people to come together to socialise, have fun, and make new friends.

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers
  • Organising and helping with traditional fundraising activities such as sponsored or promotional events, raffles, and social dances
  • Approaching individuals, schools, universities, local authorities, shops and commercial organisations for sponsorship and donations
  • Developing new fundraising ideas and events
  • Keeping financial records from fundraising events
  • Following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

  • Good organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills
  • Leadership skills that bring out the best in others
  • The ability to prioritise and delegate
  • Experience of handling money
  • Knowledge of local community networks
  • Fundraising or sales experience
  • Good IT Skills

Time expectation 

Our ‘Friends of’ usually meet 4-6 times per year. We would anticipate you will spend 2 to 4 hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed. Fundraising for FRONTLINEdance can be immensely satisfying and fun. It is particularly well-suited to those who are looking for flexible or family-friendly voluntary work.
