Location: Edinburgh

The 2018 Edinburgh International Festival season bursts into life with a spectacular free outdoor digital performance celebrating Scotland’s Year of Young People and reflecting on the centenary of the end of the Great War.

The Festival is looking for young people to participate in the Standard Life Aberdeen Opening Event: Five Telegrams, which will take place in Festival Square, Edinburgh on Friday 3 August.

To take part, participants must be between the ages of 16 and 26 by Tuesday 26 June 2018.

Rehearsals will take place in July and early August, before the performance on the evening of Friday 3 August. No singing experience is necessary to take part, just a passion to give your all and be part of the world’s leading arts festival.

Participants will be guided through the process by the Festival's Music and Movement Directors, working within a chorus of 250 other young people.

This is a participation opportunity for non-professionals, and the Festival is unable to accept anyone in the company who might be considered as a professional as it would contravene union agreements.

All participants will also receive a Year of Young People Participation Certificate signed by the First Minister.
